04 · REPUTATIONAL ENQUIRIES

Understand a company's reputation in local context.

Four completed human-source enquiries, scoped around the decision you need to make.

Reputational enquiries may be commissioned on their own or included in Enhanced due diligence. We first check whether knowledgeable sources are likely to be available for the subject and question.

SCOPE & BOUNDARIES

What to confirm before we begin.

If sources are unavailable

AsiaBIS usually identifies inability to proceed within the first day of an order, informs the client and agrees a revised scope and price or cancellation of the affected component before continuing. Financial handling is confirmed case by case.

Alternative evidence

For newly established or low-profile subjects, registry research, scoped principal checks or site verification may provide a more useful basis for the decision.

Ten-country commissioning

Research and fieldwork can be commissioned across all ten covered countries. Specific local source availability and limitations are confirmed at enquiry.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Clear evidence, designed for a decision.

01

A defined reputation question and subject for the assignment

02

Four completed human-source enquiries in a standard assignment

03

A written synthesis separating source accounts, corroboration and limitations

04

Identification of unresolved questions that may need separately scoped follow-up

CLEAR BEFORE WORK BEGINS

Know the decision, method, price, timing, and limits.

DECISION SUPPORTED

Assess a subject's local reputation when records and media alone cannot answer the decision question.

RESEARCH APPROACH

A standard assignment comprises four completed human-source enquiries, with source accounts assessed and qualified in the findings.

PRICING BASIS

Request a written quote. If the approach proves infeasible, revised scope and price or cancellation of the affected component are agreed before work continues.

TURNAROUND

Five working days for a standard four-completed-source assignment once all required subject details are complete and the order is confirmed by email for invoice clients or by payment confirmation for website clients. Country-specific timing and expedited requests are confirmed by email.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

A new or low-profile business may have too few knowledgeable sources. Privacy concerns, source willingness and the subject's local relationships can limit what enquiries establish. Source accounts require context and corroboration.

HOW IT WORKS

One accountable workflow.

01

Check feasibility

Tell us the company, market and concern. We assess whether the proposed source approach is productive for the subject.

02

Agree scope

We confirm the completed-enquiry target, written price and timing before continuing.

03

Report with context

Findings distinguish what sources said from what can be independently corroborated and identify remaining uncertainty.

COMMON USES

Research designed around real third-party decisions.

Third-party reputation review, Higher-risk onboarding, Transaction diligence, Local context for limited public records.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Questions about this service.

Is this the same as Enhanced due diligence?

It is the reputational-enquiry component of Enhanced due diligence but can also be commissioned separately. Enhanced combines it with Standard DD research.

What if the company has little public presence?

We review source feasibility and discuss alternatives before continuing if four knowledgeable enquiries are unlikely to be productive.

Is every allegation treated as fact?

No. Source accounts are qualified, corroboration is distinguished from unverified information, and limitations are made clear.
