AsiaBIS is looking for a Vendor Manager to oversee the external data, research, translation, fieldwork, technology, and operational providers that support our work across Asia.
You will manage the full vendor lifecycle: market mapping, evaluation, onboarding, contracting, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. Your work will help teams secure the right capability without losing visibility over sources, standards, cost, or accountability.
This is a remote position. Candidates should be able to collaborate reliably across Asian business hours and work closely with colleagues in research, operations, finance, product, and engineering.
Set clear terms. Protect delivery quality.
- Identify, assess, onboard, and maintain a dependable network of data, research, translation, fieldwork, and operational vendors across Asian markets.
- Define written scopes, service levels, pricing, turnaround expectations, confidentiality requirements, and escalation paths before work begins.
- Monitor vendor performance across quality, timeliness, responsiveness, cost, source transparency, and compliance with AsiaBIS standards.
- Coordinate due diligence, contracting, data-protection review, access controls, and record keeping for new and existing vendors.
- Work with research, operations, finance, product, and engineering teams to forecast demand and match assignments with appropriate vendor capabilities.
- Resolve delivery issues, maintain contingency capacity, and lead regular performance reviews and improvement plans.
Commercial discipline and regional judgment.
- At least four years of experience in vendor management, procurement, operations, partnerships, or a related commercial role.
- Experience managing providers of data, research, due diligence, professional services, technology, or other quality-sensitive work.
- Strong commercial judgment and confidence negotiating scope, pricing, service levels, and contractual expectations.
- A structured approach to supplier evaluation, performance measurement, risk, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Understanding of confidentiality, privacy, information security, conflicts, and responsible third-party data handling.
- Clear written and spoken English and the ability to collaborate across cultures, functions, and Asian time zones.
